FAQ

01Why does my iPhone get warm, or why did recording stop by itself?

Dual-camera recording is much heavier than ordinary single-camera recording. The app may run camera capture, live preview, real-time composition, audio processing, video encoding and Photos saving at the same time. 4K, 60 fps, Front+Back capture, Dual Rear capture, Front Beauty, Color Style filters, full-screen layouts and long continuous recording can raise device temperature and system pressure.

When iOS reports high pressure, DualCapture may lower the active recording spec or stop and save the current recording. This is intended to protect the device and preserve the footage already captured. If this happens often, let the phone cool down, avoid direct sunlight, close other camera or video apps, and try 1080p / 30 fps for longer sessions.

02Why does 4K or 60 fps downgrade automatically?

Before showing quality options, DualCapture checks the camera formats supported by the current device and lens combination. When the actual camera session starts, iOS can still apply a stricter hardware budget based on MultiCam usage, temperature, battery and system load.

If the requested combination is not stable enough, the app chooses a lower supported setting instead of failing the recording. For example, a high-pressure Front+Back or Dual Rear setup may fall back to 1080p / 30 fps. For important recordings, use the spec shown as available in Settings and keep enough free storage.

60 fps is especially demanding because the app has much less time to process each frame. Even at 1080p, 60 fps can be harder to sustain than 4K / 30 fps when Front+Back capture, full-screen composition, Front Beauty or Color Style filters are enabled. For longer or more stable recordings, 30 fps is usually the safer choice.

In full-screen Front+Back capture, if Front Beauty or Color Style is enabled, DualCapture may keep the same layout and aspect ratio while controlling the final pixel area. This reduces real-time rendering and encoding pressure without changing how the composition looks.

03Why do I see a performance prompt when enabling Front Beauty or Color Style?

Front Beauty and Color Style filters both process camera frames in real time. When they are combined with Front+Back capture, 60 fps, full-screen layouts or long recording, some devices may not have enough performance headroom to keep recording stable.

On some devices, DualCapture may ask you to keep only one of these effects. If you continue, the app applies the effect you are turning on and closes the other one. If you cancel, your current settings remain unchanged.

Color Style is treated as one overall Front+Back effect, not just a single camera filter. This means that when Front Beauty needs to close Color Style for stability, both front and rear Color Style filters are turned off together.

04Why are some capture modes or lens options unavailable?

Multi-camera capture depends on more than the number of lenses on the phone. The device must support Apple's MultiCam session, and iOS must allow the selected cameras to run together. Dual Rear capture needs a supported rear wide + ultra-wide combination. Front+Back capture also checks whether the selected front and rear lenses can form a stable pair.

This means some phones may support Single Cam Dual output but not native Dual Rear capture, and some rear or front lens choices may be hidden because the current combination cannot run reliably. Try the default wide lens first, or switch to Single Cam Dual when a true multi-camera mode is unavailable.

05Why is video stabilization enabled but not applied?

Video stabilization requires support from the active camera connection and adds extra processing cost. To keep multi-camera recording stable, DualCapture currently applies stabilization only when the device supports it and the active spec is 1080p / 30 fps or lower.

At 4K, 60 fps or other high-load MultiCam combinations, stabilization may be turned off even if the switch is enabled. If stabilization is more important than maximum resolution, lower the recording spec to 1080p / 30 fps and avoid combining it with other high-pressure options.

06Why can't I change settings or switch modes while recording?

Changing resolution, frame rate, lenses, export mode or capture scene can require rebuilding the camera session. Rebuilding a session while a video file is being written can damage the current recording or interrupt audio and video synchronization.

For this reason, DualCapture asks you to stop recording before changing these settings. Stop and save the current clip first, then switch modes or adjust settings before starting the next take.

07Why can a video be silent?

Audio recording depends on microphone permission and system audio availability. If microphone permission is denied, the microphone is temporarily unavailable, or another app is occupying audio, DualCapture may record a silent video instead of blocking the capture completely.

If you need sound, check iOS microphone permission for DualCapture, stop other apps that are playing or recording audio, and start a new recording after the app shows the camera is ready.

08Why is the torch unavailable?

The torch depends on the active main camera, the physical lens and the current system state. In multi-camera sessions, iOS can disable torch access when the device is warm, under heavy pressure, or when the active lens and connection do not support it.

If the torch is unavailable, try switching to a lower recording spec, use the default wide lens, reduce device temperature, or use external lighting for long dual-camera recordings.

09Why does saving take time?

After you stop recording, the app still needs to finish video files, close encoders, save the result to the system Photos library and clean temporary files. Longer videos, higher resolution, higher frame rate and multiple outputs all increase this work.

Keep the app open until the save message is complete. Also make sure Photos permission is enabled and your device has enough free storage, especially before long 4K or split-output recordings.

10What is the difference between Free and Pro?

The free version can use the core camera experience, including basic Front+Back capture, Portrait+Landscape capture, photos, videos and default appearance options. Pro unlocks advanced capabilities such as 4K capture, high video quality, high photo quality, Front+Back split export, lens selection, premium app icons, more accent colors, Liquid Glass styling, watermark control and video stabilization.

If the current setup contains Pro-only features, the app may ask you to unlock Pro or downgrade to a free setup before recording. Downgrading keeps the capture available by returning Pro-only options to their free defaults.

11Why can't subscription plans load?

Subscription plans and membership status come from the App Store through StoreKit. They require network access and a working Apple in-app purchase service. If the network is restricted, the App Store is slow, or Apple's service is temporarily unavailable, the plan list may fail to load.

Check that DualCapture can use the network, make sure you are signed in to the App Store, then close the purchase page and try again later. The app retries product loading, but App Store responses can still take time.

12Why can't Restore Purchases find my Pro membership?

Restore Purchases uses the Apple ID currently signed in to the App Store. If the purchase was made with another Apple ID, the subscription expired, the purchase was refunded, or App Store synchronization is delayed, the app may not find an active entitlement.

Check your App Store purchase and subscription history with the Apple ID you used for the purchase. If you bought Lifetime while already subscribed monthly or yearly, remember that Lifetime does not automatically cancel an existing subscription; manage auto-renewal in App Store subscriptions.

13Why does the app say the camera frame is not ready when I take a photo?

DualCapture photos are generated from the latest live camera frames. Right after entering a mode, switching lenses or rebuilding the camera session, the app may need a moment before both preview streams have delivered usable frames.

If you see this message, wait until the preview is stable and try again. It is especially common immediately after opening Front+Back capture, changing layout, switching lenses or returning from another app.
